Index to Cuyahoga County Cemetery Inscriptions

In 2009, the Genealogical Committee of the Western Reserve Historical Society indexed 39 published sources of Cuyahoga County Cemetery Inscriptions that are available in the Western Reserve Historical Society Research Center Reference Room.

This index allows researchers to search the names of deceased people in 39 printed cemetery inscription sources simultaneously.  Additionally, the index can be browsed by cemetery name and the names of people buried within those cemeteries.  Search results include the full name of the deceased, name of the cemetery where the burial took place, name of the publication containing further information, and the page number of the publication.   More detailed information is provided at the WRHS Research Center Reading Room.

Researchers can access and make copies from all 39 publications at the Western Reserve Historical Research Center Reading Room. Reference staff can provide copies for researchers unable to schedule a visit to the Western Reserve Historical Society. For information about WRHS Research Center location, hours, admission fees, and research fees, contact the reference staff at 216-721-5722, x1509, or via email at
